Remain in Him

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5 NIV)

Have you ever thought about the relationship between the branch and the vine? We don’t use these kinds of word pictures very much anymore, but think about it--if the branch is not attached to the vine, it withers and dies. The branches’ very life depends on it being attached to the vine. The same thing happens if we try to operate in this life without Jesus. Without Him, we can do nothing. We are cut from our life source. But when you remain in Him, by daily connecting with Him through prayer, worship, and study of the Word, then your life will be fruitful. You’ll walk in joy and blessing. I love that this verse says “much fruit”, which means you will have an abundant harvest in your life. God doesn’t want you to just barely get by. He wants to overwhelm you with His goodness. Remain in Him today. Choose to make Him top priority, and you’ll see His hand of blessing operating in every area of your life!

All Things Are Possible

“Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26 NIV)

Are you facing something today that seems impossible? With man it may be, but with God, ALL things are possible! If you seem to be in an impossible situation, get with God! Sometimes it’s so easy to focus on our problems and try to solve them in our own strength. But remember, the battle belongs to the Lord. He has a plan for your victory. He has a plan to give you a way out. He is making the things that seem impossible, possible. You can trust Him today. The Bible says that He has plans for your good, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Start believing and confessing today, “I am with God, and with God all things are possible!” Are your bills piling up? With God, all things are possible. Do your relationships need healing? With God, all things are possible. Is there sickness in you body? With God, all things are possible! As you meditate on God’s power, He will work in your life, and you will step forward into that place of victory He has in store for you.

Free Indeed

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36 NIV)

Are you free today? Are you free indeed? So many people today hear that God wants to set them free, but yet, they still walk around feeling defeated and carrying unnecessary burdens. Don’t let that be you! Embrace the freedom that Jesus paid for. You are set free from the bondage of sin, fear, lack, sickness, worry, and cares. Think about that for a minute. How would you feel if you never had to worry about money? God wants to set you free. How would you feel if you never had to be concerned about sickness? God wants to set you free. How would you feel if you never had fear? God wants to set you free! God has a plan for you to be “free indeed” in every area of your life. He wants to direct your steps on the path of life and give you pleasures forevermore. Accept His freedom and follow His path for you. You can trust that He is moving you into a place of victory and peace all the days of your life!

Bring Forth Fruit

“Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart]” (Matthew 3:8 AMP)

When you submit your mind and heart to the Lord, your actions will begin to change. You will bring forth fruit that is the character of God. The Bible tells us in Galatians that the fruit of God’s spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These character traits are proof that God is at work in our lives. Do you have more love than you used to? Are you more at peace than you used to be? Are you more gentle? Self-controlled? That’s because God is at work in your life and it brings Him pleasure when you act more like Him. If you need to grow in any of these areas today, simply open your heart and ask Him to work in your life. He promises that He will complete the good work He’s started in you. Don’t give up! Keep praying, keep believing, keep repenting and submitting your life to Him. You will continue to grow and bring forth His fruit, and you will live in His abundant blessings in every area of life.

The Great Exchange

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21 NIV)

If you’ve accepted Jesus today, you are the righteousness of God! That means you are an extension of His virtue. You are approved by Him. You are in right-standing with Him. Jesus not only paid the punishment for your sins, the Bible says He actually became sin. He took it upon Himself and into His being so that you could take God’s righteousness upon yourself and into your being. It’s the great exchange. Don’t let sin hold you back any longer. Don’t let the enemy lie to you and make you feel guilty and condemned. First John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If there is anything in your life that is holding you back today, confess it to God. Let Him cleanse you and make you new. Remember, He paid a precious price so that you could be His righteousness. Let that sink into your heart today. As you meditate on the truth that you are righteous, you’ll begin to change how you think and act. You’ll reflect more of God’s character, and you will move forward into the life of victory that He has in store!

Whosoever

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

When Jesus sent His Son to the earth, He opened the door of salvation to whosoever would believe. That means, anyone can become a child of His and have everlasting life! Aren’t you glad He didn’t just come to save certain kinds of people? Aren’t you glad He didn’t have a bunch of rules and conditions for salvation? Before Jesus came, people had to observe many laws in order to be holy enough to go into the temple. They were constantly performing sacrifices to pay for their sins just so they could be around the presence of God. And even then, their sins were only covered up. But when Jesus came, He was the final sacrifice. And His blood didn’t just cover our sins, it washed us clean. Now, instead of just going to the temple to be near God, the Bible says we are the temple, and He chooses to live inside of us. Thank Him today for His mercy and for extending the gift of salvation to whosoever. As we celebrate Christmas together, remember, that Jesus is the ultimate gift. Do you receive Him today? If you’ve never asked Him into your life, there’s no better time than right now.

Everlasting Father

“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 AMP)

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you become a child of the Most High God. You instantly have an Everlasting Father! Think about that word everlasting. That means that before the beginning of time, the Father was there. He was waiting for you to accept Him and become a child of His. And I can only imagine that He was excited and anticipating that day, just like a father would anticipate the birth of his child in the natural. I can imagine He would think everyday, “Is it today?” I don’t know what your experience has been with your earthly father, but God is a good and perfect Father. He loves you with an everlasting love. He loves everything about you so much that He notices when a single hair falls from your head. He accepts you just the way you are, and He loves you enough to guide you and work His character in you. And, He will be your Father from now until eternity! He will never leave you nor forsake you! Thank Him today for being your Everlasting Father!

The Mighty God

“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 AMP)

We don’t just serve a mighty God, we serve The Mighty God! People have served many types of gods throughout history, but none of them could be called mighty. One of the definitions of the word mighty in the original Hebrew is a champion or hero. From before Jesus’ birth, His name was Champion. He was marked to be your Hero. And not only did He come to save you from the eternal punishment of sin, He came to save you from sickness, shame, fear, poverty, and anything that would hold you back in this life. The Bible says that He came so that you could have life and have it more abundantly! Is there anything that is holding you back right now? Anything that you need to be “rescued” from? Call on your Hero—The Mighty God. Let Him show Himself strong on your behalf. Open your heart and trust that He is working behind the scenes in your favor. He loves to be your Hero. As you praise and thank Him for all He’s doing in your life, you’ll feel His peace and rest, and you’ll be ready to live the abundant life He has in store for you!

Wonderful Counselor

“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 AMP)

What do you need today? Do you need guidance or counsel about a particular situation? One of the reasons Jesus was sent to this earth was to be your Wonderful Counselor. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Counselor comes to live inside of you by the Holy Spirit. Notice He’s not just any kind of counselor, He is the Wonderful Counselor. He is full of wonder and amazement. He’s extraordinary. He’s the very best counselor you could have—He knows all things! Do you need counsel today regarding your job? Do you need counsel regarding your relationships or an important decision? Do you need a counselor to act as your defender today? Call on the Wonderful Counselor. Open your heart and let Him show you His wisdom. Receive His counsel from the Word of God. Receive His counsel from the godly people in your life. As you seek the Wonderful Counselor with an open heart, He promises to lead and guide you. He promises to show you paths of life so that you can live in victory the way God intends!

The Lord Is With You

“O favored one [endued with grace]! The Lord is with you!” (Luke 1:28 AMP)

You are favored today, and the Lord is with you! God promises that He is no respecter of persons. If you are a believer in Jesus today, He is with you, and you are endued with His grace. That means you have God’s supernatural empowerment to do whatever you need to do today. You have God’s empowerment at work, you have God’s empowerment at home, you have God’s empowerment in your relationships—you are empowered to accomplish everything you need to today. The Bible says that if two or more declare a thing, it shall be established. When you start declaring what God says about you, you are in agreement with Him. You and God are a majority. Begin to receive His grace and favor by thanking and praising Him. Declare that you are empowered by His grace. Declare that you have favor because God is with you. As you receive His favor and grace, you will see God’s supernatural empowerment in every area of your life, and you will live in the victory God has in store for you.

Giving Is Worship

“And on going into the house, they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then opening their treasure bags, they presented to Him gifts” (Matthew 2:11 AMP)

When the wise men first saw Jesus, they were completely overwhelmed. They fell to their knees and wanted to worship Him with everything they had. Giving was an automatic response. They wanted to lavish Him with their love and gifts. They were giving because they were thankful and wanted to honor Him. When you give to God, He doesn’t want you to do it just because it’s offering time or because you feel like you have to. In fact, the Bible says, “Do not give grudgingly or under compulsion.” God wants you to give because your heart is overflowing with thankfulness. He wants you to be happy and cheerful when you give. In fact, the Bible says, “He loves a cheerful giver.” God wants you to give out of a heart filled with honor and faith. Think about the faithfulness of God today. Think about what He’s done for you—that He’s saved and redeemed You. Think about the fact that He is your Provider. As you meditate on His goodness, your heart will overflow with thankfulness, and just like the wise men, giving will be an automatic response!

Consider Your God

“And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body…he did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform…” (Romans 4:19-21 NKJV)

Abraham, who is known as our father in the faith, had many obstacles coming against the promise of God in his life. God told him that he would be “the father of many nations.” Abraham was over 90 years old before he ever saw that promise begin to come to pass. This scripture tells us that He didn’t consider his body. He didn’t think and meditate on all the reasons he couldn’t be the father of many nations. No, he considered and thought about the strength and ability of God! He thought about God’s faithfulness and gave praise and glory to Him! That faith that Abraham exercised enabled God to move on His behalf and fulfill the promise in His life. What are you believing God for? Does it seem impossible? Has it taken a long time? Consider your God. Consider His Word. Consider His faithfulness. Just like Abraham, you’ll grow strong in faith as you give glory to God. Your faith will open the door for God to move in your life, and you will experience the victory He has in store for you!

You Have Been Pre-Programmed For Victory

Are you living in the full abundant life God promised in His Word? God never created you to be just average. He doesn’t want you to drag around, barely making it, feeling defeated and depressed. God created you to be happy, healthy, and whole.

The Scripture says, "We have been made in the image of Almighty God". When God made you, He placed His very essence on the inside of you. One way to look at it is that you have the DNA of Almighty God. Just like your natural DNA comes from your parents, your spiritual DNA comes from your heavenly Father. The good news is that the spiritual always overrides the natural! God’s DNA will override any negative DNA in your family line! You are pre-programmed for victory! Your genes carry God’s favor, wisdom, strength, talent, and ability. He has breathed His life into you. By faith today, start declaring what the Word says about you.

Declare that every gift, every talent, every dream, every desire in your heart will come to pass. Declare that you will fulfill your purpose. Declare that you will overcome every obstacle. Declare that the seeds of increase, success, and promotion are taking root and the DNA of Almighty God is going to spring forth in your life in greater ways! As you stand and believe that you are pre-programmed for victory you will see new seasons increase, blessing, and favor all the days of your life!

Walk Through

“Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV)

Do you ever feel like you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death? During the tough times, it’s easy to get to discouraged. I love what it says in the verse, “though I walk through…” No matter what you are facing today, know this: you are not alone, and you are just walking through. You don’t have to stop and live in the tough times. They are only temporary. I encourage you today; don’t allow fear to paralyze you in the middle of “the valley of the shadow of death.” Remember, God is with you. He is walking beside you. He is strengthening you. He is making a way of escape for you. He is lining up people and situations to bring you out of that tough place into a place of strength and victory. Don’t give up! Press on and walk through! Magnify the Lord

“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together” (Psalm 34:3)

There is power when you magnify the Lord and exalt His name. When you magnify the Lord, you aren’t changing Him, you are changing the way you see Him. You are making Him bigger in your life than your problems and circumstances. So many people today waste time and energy talking about their problems and feeling sorry for themselves. In other words, they are magnifying their circumstances in their own mind and heart. But when you start magnifying the Lord by talking about Him and worshiping Him, you are making Him big in your life. You are opening the door for Him to move on your behalf. Decide today that no matter what’s going on in life around you, you are going to magnify your God. Talk about His goodness. Talk about His faithfulness. Declare that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Exalt His name today and lift Him up! As you magnify the Lord above your circumstances, He will become bigger in your life. You will see His hand of blessing and move forward into the life of victory He has in store for you!

God wtih Us

Behold, the virgin shall become pregnant and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel--which, when translated, means, God with us (Matthew 1:23 AMP)

All throughout the Bible, Jesus has many names according to His attributes. In this verse, He is called Emmanuel, which means God with us. Aren’t you glad we serve a God who is with us? He’s not far away looking down on us; He is with us! As believer’s, He’s not just around us, He’s actually living on the inside of us. That means you never have to be alone or feel afraid. Do you need Emmanuel today? Do you need to feel His presence? He is closer than the air you breathe. When you call on Him, He will answer. As you worship and thank Him for His faithfulness, His presence will manifest in your life, and you will experience Him in ways you never imagined. Take time right now to acknowledge Emmanuel. Thank Him for dwelling on the inside of you. Give Him first place in your life, and as you do, He’ll pour out His abundant blessing, and you’ll experience the life of victory He has in store for you.

Joy in His Presence

“You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand” (Psalm 16:11)

Do you need more joy in your life today? God promises that joy is found in His presence, and if you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then His presence lives inside of you! That joy manifests when you focus your mind and heart on the Father and begin to praise Him for what He’s done in your life. The Bible says that He inhabits the praises of His people. When you begin to praise and thank Him, you are in His presence where there is fullness of joy. It doesn’t matter where you are or what’s going on around you, you can access the joy that’s inside of you at anytime, day or night. And know this: God wants you to experience His supernatural joy and peace at all times. That’s why He chose to live inside of you and give you an endless supply. Don’t waste another minute feeling overburdened and discouraged. Let the joy of the Lord be your strength, and you will move forward in victory on the path of life He’s prepared for you!

He Promises Peace

“I will listen to what God the Lord will say; he promises peace to His people.” (Psalm 34:1485:8)

No matter what is going on in your life right now, the Lord promises that you can have peace. Notice in this verse that the psalmist is making the decision to listen to what God says. When you make the decision to listen to God, and follow His direction, you will have peace. You may be thinking to yourself, “God doesn’t speak to me.” But the Bible says that you are His sheep, and you can hear His voice, and the voice of a stranger you will not follow. The Lord speaks in many ways—sometimes through a friend, or a song, or in the beauty of nature. Sometimes it’s a simple “knowing” deep down in the inside of you. If you aren’t sure how God speaks to you, ask Him to teach you. All you have to do is open your heart and be willing to hear His voice. As you open your heart to Him, He will speak to your heart, and you will live in peace all the days of your life.

You are God's Masterpiece

Ephesians 2:10 says that “We are God’s masterpiece.” That means you are not average. You are not ordinary. You are one of a kind. When God created you He went to great lengths to make you exactly the way He wanted. You didn’t just happen to get your personality. You didn’t just accidentally get your nose, your skin color, your gifts or abilities. God designed you the way you are on purpose, for a purpose.

The Apostle Paul said, “We should be to the praise of God’s glory.” In this passage, he’s not talking about giving God praise with our words, although that is important. He’s encouraging us to make our lives a living praise to Him! When you understand your value, and not only who you are but Whose you are, then your very existence will give God praise. When you are secure in who God made you, and you go out each day being your best, your life will give God praise. In other words, driving to work you’re giving God praise. Mowing the lawn you’re giving God praise. Going to the grocery store you’re giving God praise. Walking through the mall you’re giving God praise!

Honor God today by accepting who you are. Make the decision to be the best you can be. Get up every morning and set your mind in the right direction by making positive affirmations over your life: “I’m the apple of God’s eye. I’m His masterpiece. His fingerprints are all over me.”

If you will learn to accept and approve yourself and have a right opinion about who you are then you’re going to rise higher. God is going to pour out His blessings and you will live that life of victory that God has in store!

Breaking Controlling Powers

"Breaking Controlling Powers" by Roberts Liardon. Just finished reading this book 3 days ago. Being "slapped" by some parts of the book. So blessed!!!

The controller and the controllee are equally guilty, because the controllee has to submit and the controller has to strive in order to gain control.

"Realize that controlling spirits working through people never want you to reach the highest potential."

"A normal friend is happy when you meet his friends or other people and you start to achieve your goals. He'll encourage you. A controlling person will not. He'll say, "You can't do that. Who do you think you are?"
